It's been a tough road so far for UK's Arc Motorcycles, trying to make what it calls "the world's most advanced all-electric motorcycle of its kind" a reality. Since we first saw this incredible looking machine in , the company has been crowdfunded, invested, put into administration, and bought out by its founder.
Still, the company says it's more or less back on track now working to build the first of its customers' electric motorcycles, and three years of testing hasn't made the Vector look any less stylish.
It's not what you'd call a performance monster, with a maximum of kW ( horsepower) and km/h, but it will get up and run very well, with a - km/h. in seconds. It also claims an impressive km range, although that's likely only possible by dribbling around town.
Underpinning Arc's claim of the world's most advanced is a projection-based HUD smart helmet , developed in conjunction with Hedon, complete with a rear-view camera and voice controls, as well as an armored undershirt with built-in haptic feedback. which can be set to alert riders of danger, give "feedback on the motorcycle's dynamic position" or play music thro Caseno Email List ugh the haptics in something called "euphoric mode."

The company recently released an interesting photo of the Vector electric motorcycle without its bodywork, and it's worth a look, because it reveals just how little bodywork there really is on this Vector electric motorcycle.
The Vector electric motorcycle's carbon fiber battery box forms the majority of its monocoque frame. The motor bolts to the rear, with the rear swingarm mounted directly to the motor housing, and the axle center steering system and front swingarm bolts to the front of the battery box.
The body, as is, is tiny; There's a belly pan underneath to hide the rather utilitarian looking engine, and there's a very nice one-piece section on top, linking the headlight unit to the tank, subframe and rear unit. And it looks amazing, especially when they customize the top with some polished walnut wood.
“The architecture shown in the images is now production-ready, and several production-spec Vector motorcycles will be available in Spain for final approval and homologation in the coming months,” said Arc founder and CEO Mark Truman. , in a press release. “We have a very good order book and customers are already checking out our new commissioning suite in central England to individually tailor each Vector electric motorcycle so that they are all unique.”
The Vector electric motorcycle has been seen in motion, although so far, very little. A prototype climbed the hill at Goodwood in , but not with what we'd call an overabundance of enthusiasm. We hope to finally see a pilot piloting, which will be at some point. Or maybe just be fooled by the high streets between the "commissioning suite" and the fancy watch and monocle shops. After all, it's a £, (US$,) electric motorcycle.
